Ecoegg Laundry Egg Review ****

As part of my quest to reduce spend in the next year, I decided to invest in an Ecoegg laundry egg. I was fortunate that at the time (end of December) they were having a sale so I stocked up on a standard ecoegg, a white ecoegg, refills, dryer balls and washing machine detox tablets costing in total ยฃ31.73. To summarise, this should cover 290 washes. I average around 2 loads of washing a week (104 a year) so this should cover me for almost 3 years. The refills and eggs alone cost ยฃ17.96 which makes each wash 6p.

So let’s see if it’s up to the job!

I have been using the ecoeggs solidly for 2 months now. My overall impression is that it cleans well. My only disappointment is that there is not a stronger scent to the washing. My suggestion, if you are someone that prefers to have a scent to your washing, is to use fabric conditioner.

I would say that the ecoegg does a good job at washing my clothes. Myself and my son don’t have heavily soiled clothes or items, so this refers to a standard load of washing. I am happy to continue using this product and hope that this will reduce the waste and amount of chemicals in the environment. My hope was to reduce plastic packaging this year in order to be more mindful and environmental aware of my usage of plastic. I feel that the small bags of refill use little plastic in the packaging, which compared to the plastic boxes is definitely a reduction in waste.

Overall, I give this product 4 stars. I would like a stronger scent to achieve the full 5!

Let me know your thoughts on the ecoegg if you have tried this!
