Kids Activities: £10 or less

The summer holidays are fast approaching and the cost of living crisis is going to have a significant impact on how you spend your time over summer. Kids activities can be a costly part of the holidays, but let me reassure you that there are plenty of activities that are free or cost very little (the cost of parking perhaps) that you can do.

Plan ahead:

Before we get started, remember to plan ahead. Organise food in advance, particularly snacks and/or lunch. You don’t want to get caught out as this is when costs start to creep up! Spread out activities, you don’t have to be busy every day. Try alternating staying home and going out, or going out once every couple of days. Take the pressure off yourself. A walk around the block is fine for a day at home (there are plenty fo home activities you can do too!)

Let’s start planning. I will share activities that are free, that cost under £10 and activities for at home.

Free kids activities

  • the park
  • local splash parks
  • junior parkrun
  • photography walks/country walk
  • museum
  • bug hunt

Kids Activities under £10

  • join a weekly sports session.
  • swimming
  • mini movies at the cinema
  • country parks (parking costs)
  • ten pin bowling (usually have food and game offers during school holidays)
  • open gardens (adults pay between £5-8 and kids are usually free) https://ngs.org.uk/find-a-garden/

Kids Activities for home

  • Drawing
  • Painting
  • Card making (some small spend on resources may be needed here)
  • Gardening (tidy what you already have).
  • Movie night
  • Boards games
  • Den building
  • lego challenges
  • baking
  • fancy dress

I hope you have a fun filled summer and enjoying all of these activities.
